A standalone Project Highwater account stores your email address, a securely derived password credential, account display name and server-side account key. Game progress includes the playthrough identity, current scene, safe resume point, committed decisions and the minimum state required to continue the story.
Local and hosted saves
Your browser keeps an IndexedDB copy so recovery can remain possible after an interrupted connection. An authenticated D1 copy protects continuation across supported sessions. The game does not use earlier saves as a rewind mechanism; committed choices remain attached to that playthrough.
Marketing preview
The South One demonstration stores only the selected preview response in session storage. It is separate from your real game save and may be reset at any time.
Analytics and payments
Aggregate event hooks remain inactive unless local analytics consent has already been granted. They never include email, preferred Commander name, free text, saves, decisions or relationship state. Production payment checkout is disabled; no card or payment data is collected by this build.
Control and current limitations
You can delete eligible manual save records inside the account experience. Hosted autosave history cannot be deleted as a way to reverse a committed choice. Password recovery and verified-email recovery are not yet installed; do not rely on this preview as permanent archival storage.
